Terms of Service
About these terms
These terms apply when you use glueguru.co.nz or buy products from us through the website. The website is run by Glue Guru Limited, 1016E Great South Road, Penrose, Auckland 1061. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Glue Guru" mean Glue Guru Limited, and "you" means the person or business using the website or placing an order.
By using the website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, our Shipping and Delivery page and our Refund Policy.
If you hold a trade account with us, our Terms of Trade also apply to purchases made on that account. Where the Terms of Trade and these terms differ, the Terms of Trade apply to your account purchases.
Using our website
You may use the website to browse and buy our products, download product information and contact us. When you use it, you agree not to:
- use it for anything unlawful or fraudulent
- try to access parts of the website, our trade portal or our systems that you are not authorised to use
- copy, scrape or resell our product listings, prices or content without our written permission
- upload anything harmful, such as viruses or code designed to interfere with the website.
If you create an account on the website or our trade portal, keep your login details private. You are responsible for orders placed through your account. If you think someone else has used your account, tell us straight away.
We work to keep the website available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions. We may change, suspend or remove any part of it at any time.
Products, technical advice and safety
We try to describe and photograph our products accurately. Colours, packaging and labels can vary slightly from the images shown, and manufacturers sometimes change their packaging or formulations without notice.
Adhesives, sealants, solvents and primers behave differently depending on the materials being joined, how the surfaces are prepared, the temperature, the humidity and how the product is applied. When our team recommends a product, we base that advice on the information you give us and on the manufacturer's data. Because we cannot see every job, you should test the product on a small area of your own materials before starting the full job.
Many of our products contain hazardous substances. Before using any product, read the label and the Safety Data Sheet, which you can download from the product page or ask us for. Use the right protective equipment, work in a well-ventilated area, store products as directed and keep them away from children. You are responsible for using and storing products safely and in line with the manufacturer's instructions.
Prices and payment
All prices on the website are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless they are marked as excluding GST. Shipping costs are added at checkout, and you will see the full total before you pay.
Prices can change without notice. The price you pay is the one shown when you place your order. If a price is clearly wrong because of a mistake on the website, such as a missing digit, we will contact you before sending the order. You can then choose to pay the correct price or cancel the order for a full refund.
You can pay online using the payment options shown at checkout. Trade account holders who are logged in may be able to charge orders to their account, and those orders are paid according to the Terms of Trade. We do not see or store your full card details.
Placing an order
When you place an order, you will receive an email confirming that we have received it. A contract between us is formed when we dispatch your order or confirm that it is ready for collection.
We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch, for example if a product is out of stock, a price or description on the website was wrong, we cannot deliver a product to your address, or we suspect the order is fraudulent. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we will refund you in full to your original payment method.
If you want to change or cancel your order, contact us as soon as possible. We can usually make changes up until the order is packed. Bulk orders and products we have specially ordered in for you may not be able to be cancelled once we have placed the order with our supplier.
Delivery and dangerous goods
We deliver throughout New Zealand, including rural addresses. Delivery times and costs are set out on our Shipping and Delivery page and shown at checkout. Delivery times are estimates, and we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, weather or other events outside our control.
Some of our products, including aerosols, canister adhesives and flammable solvents, are classed as dangerous goods for transport. These products may need to travel by road only, may take longer to arrive, may carry an extra freight charge, or may not be able to be sent to some addresses. If this affects your order, we will contact you to arrange another option, such as collection from our Penrose store, or refund you for the items we cannot send.
Please check your delivery details carefully before placing your order. If a parcel is returned to us because the address was wrong or incomplete, we may charge you the cost of sending it again.
Responsibility for the goods passes to you once they are delivered to the address you gave us or collected from our store. If your order arrives damaged, let us know within 48 hours, as set out in our Refund Policy.
Returns and refunds
Our Refund Policy explains how to report a damaged, faulty or incorrect item and how to ask about a change-of-mind return. In summary:
- Damaged deliveries must be reported within 48 hours of receiving them, with your order number and photos. Please keep the product and packaging until we have looked into it.
- Faulty or incorrect items should be reported as soon as you notice the problem.
- We do not have to accept change-of-mind returns. If you would like to return something, contact us first, and do not send it back until we have agreed.
- A restocking fee may apply to approved change-of-mind returns or products ordered incorrectly. We will tell you the amount before we process the return.
- Refunds go back to the payment method you used.
For safety reasons, we cannot accept returns of products that have been opened, partly used, mixed or stored incorrectly, unless the product is faulty.
Faulty goods and your consumer rights
If you buy products for personal or household use, you have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986. These include the right to goods that are of acceptable quality, fit for any purpose you told us about and match their description. If a product does not meet these guarantees, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund, depending on the problem.
Nothing in these terms limits or removes the rights you have under those Acts or any other New Zealand consumer law.
Buying for business purposes
If you buy products for the purposes of a business, or hold yourself out as doing so (for example by entering a business name at checkout or ordering through a trade account), you and Glue Guru agree that:
- the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply to the purchase, as allowed by section 43 of that Act
- sections 9, 12A, 13 and 14(1) of the Fair Trading Act 1986 do not apply between us, as allowed by section 5D of that Act
- the guarantees and remedies in these terms, our Refund Policy and, for account holders, our Terms of Trade are your remedies for a faulty or incorrect product.
We agree to this because business customers choose products for their own processes and are best placed to test them on their own materials. Faulty or incorrect products will still be replaced, credited or refunded, as set out in our Refund Policy.
Our liability
This section does not limit any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.
For business purchases, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from a product or from our advice. This includes loss of profit, lost production, labour costs, rework, or damage to the materials or items the product was used on. Our total liability to you for any claim about a product is limited to repairing, replacing or refunding that product, whichever we choose.
We are not liable for any loss caused by using a product in a way that does not follow its label, Safety Data Sheet or the manufacturer's instructions, or by failing to test it on your materials before use.
We are not liable for any loss caused by the website being unavailable, or by errors or viruses introduced by third parties.
Intellectual property
The content on this website, including text, product guides, photos, graphics and the Glue Guru name and logo, belongs to Glue Guru or the brands we represent. Product and brand names such as CANTAC, QUILOSA, 3M, Bostik and Loctite are trade marks of their owners. You may view and print pages and download Safety Data Sheets and technical documents for your own use. You may not copy or republish our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
Privacy
We collect and use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on the website when you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the terms still apply.

Notes for Melia (delete before publishing)
- GST display. Product pages show a price with no GST label. I've written that prices include GST unless marked otherwise, because consumer-facing prices in NZ are expected to be GST-inclusive. Check the Shopify tax setting matches, and tell me if prices are GST-exclusive so I can change the wording.
- Legal entity. This uses Glue Guru Limited, the same as the privacy policy. Confirm it on the Companies Office register before publishing.
- Dangerous goods. Confirm with the team how aerosols, canisters and solvents are sent (courier, road freight or collection only) and whether any areas are excluded, so the delivery section matches what happens.
- Opened product returns. The returns section says opened or partly used products can't be returned unless faulty. The current Refund Policy doesn't say this, so either add a matching line there or remove it here.
- Business buyer clause. The Consumer Guarantees Act and Fair Trading Act contracting-out wording only works if it's fair and reasonable, and small trade contracts under $250,000 are covered by the unfair contract terms rules. Worth a quick lawyer check alongside the Terms of Trade update.
- Australian orders. The shipping page says NZ only. If the store takes Australian orders, add a line on Australian delivery and the Australian Consumer Law.
- Publish in two places. Paste into a Terms of Service page and into Shopify Settings > Policies > Terms of service so checkout links to it. Add the page to the footer next to the Privacy Policy.
- Refund Policy typos. The Refund Policy lists enquires@glueguru.co.nz (missing an "i") and +64 9 4444 4878 (an extra 4), the same errors as the FAQ and shipping pages.
